Here is another collage I did from a few of the shots I took at Emerald Isle back in July. I used an app called Diptic in order to create this, all on my iPad.

You know how when you are upgrading software, they tell you to back up all your data first? Well, most of the time I do, but yesterday I didn’t. I just decided to roll the dice, and I lost. Or rather, my blog lost the last two posts. At least I’m pretty sure that’s all that is missing. 2011 was not a great year and I am happy to see it go. That was the subject of my last post. The other post had something to do with Summer Solstice and how it was rainy and you couldn’t really tell that it was summer. That was the least of my troubles. If I had only known. But, thankfully, we can’t see too far into the future, and no matter how we want to, we can’t change the past. I also posted a picture that I had posted previously on Facebook when I was playing around with an app.

Our trip to Emerald Isle was marred by intense sadness, but every day at the beach is a good day. That has always been our creed and it was no different then.

It seems like this has been the longest winter ever, even though the days are flying by. Is that a contradiction or what? I love salads in the spring and I’ve been watching a training video on food staging so I thought I would play around with my lunch today. This was taken with my iPhone because it’s just quick and handy.

In was an absolutely beautiful day in Lexington today. After the snow we got again this past week, I was afraid spring had forgotten us.

I chose to accept his assignment: Pretend you have only a film camera, take only 27 or 36 shots, turn off the picture review or put tape over it, and don’t look at the pictures for at least 24 hours. Extra credit was given if you did no post processing in Lightroom or Photoshop. Well, no extra credit here. I did take with me a 256 mb card only and set my Nikon 70 to RAW + Jpeg so that kept me from going over the picture limit. I figured out how to turn off the continuous mode, and turned the picture review off. Oh yeah, another rule was to keep the ISO the same for all the shots like with film. I used ISO 400. I’m sorry to say I didn’t get any great shots, but I got some shots that captured the day we spent at Lake Cumberland, and sometimes, that’s enough.
